To get the best picture, you may want to consider purchasing a video scaler to make your image as crisp as possible.

Getting back to the whole fix your own projector part, you will want to get your hands dirty and clean the machine yourself. Pop open the casing and use some compressed air to clean the obvious trouble spots around the filter as well as other potential threats. If you are confident you can replace certain simple parts like the fan, why not give it a try. You have to make sure all connections are solid.

The C1 Compact is a somewhat loud machine, but as long as you clean it regularly, the fan should not act up. Pretty light and solid as a rock, the C1 Compact may become your best friend. It only comes with a video input, so make sure you get that scaler or use your personal computer to make the connections.
