BenQ PB2250...Back In The Lab With a Pen And A Pad
BenQ, although being a relative newcomer to the projector market is always thinking of its consumers and delivering products that are functional. The BenQ PB2250 is great example of their commitment to building a great projector that is above all, easy to use.Weighing in at just under four pounds this is one light projector and will be most sought after by those who travel a lot with their business. It’s a DLP projector so expect refreshingly bright colors and seamless picture quality. Employing what they dubbed a “Golden Ratio Colour Wheel”, the PB2250 is able to produce colours so life-like and true to the real thing that you won’t b able to tell the difference.
Since the release of its predecessor, the PB2240, the brightness of the PB2250 has been improved by only a smidgeon. Flailing out of the PB2250’s lens is 2200 ANSI lumens allowing you to take this pet anywhere and still have a big and bright picture. The 200W projector lamp hidden away inside will be the instigator of your bright picture, and same as the PB2240, the lamp should last you around to 3000 hours.
A security feature that BenQ has injected into the PB2250 is one that I believe is rather silly. They have installed a password feature that requires the user to “punch in the code” in order to enable the machine for use. BenQ apparently believes that this will prevent theft of the projector because the thief will think twice, knowing they will have to “crack the code”.
This implies that the thief is projector savvy and has researched the projector they are about to steal, thus knowing better to steal such a projector with password technology. I will continue to speak about this ridiculous topic in a further article so not to waste any more time.
Let’s move on to the 2000:1 contrast ratio and how it produces extra-fine black levels. Great for either your office text applications or a movie in your home, the contrast is more than enough for most scenarios. The PB2250 also has applied presets for different applications, so that you can customize your projector for your favorite video games, movies, and computer presentations with the push of a button. For TV lovers, there is also a Picture-In-Picture feature which is turning the projector world upside down.
Now, the machine might be a little loud sitting roughly at 36db, but the benefits might outweigh the loudness since it comes equipped with four fans, cooling down the trouble zones. Two fans for the projector lamp and two for the DMD chip powering the projector. Well, this is all you need to know until someone sends one back for having a faulty sprocket.
